What we've been up to

Well, it's been an eventful seven weeks. Alot has changed and our little monkey has grown.

I've joked that I went to sleep on October 11th, woke up, and have yet to sleep since. It's like one day just continues onto the next. The fact that a person can function on such a small amount of sleep is a testament to the wonders of the human body. We just do what we have to do, I guess. Ultimately, I suppose we do it because we love who we are doing it for. What keep sme going is knowing that this time in our lives will soon be a distant memory and we will look back longingly at this simple time in his little life. What is also remarkable is how quickly we become people. Gavin is my own little science experiment coming alive right before our very eyes. He does something new and more boy like every day and I am in sheer awe at how quickly he is growing. Here are some things that we have been doing lately:

We had a visit from Mausie. Gosh, she's sweet. We had our first bath...and we did.not.like.it.

But then we dried off and decided that, well, it wasn't so bad after all.

We can play and smile at Daddy....... which makes us both very sleepy.

We do some tummy time to beef up our pecks....

and then we follow it up with a full meal to replenish our calories. (I love a heart healthy glass of Cabernet, don't you?)

But mostly I sleep.
Ya know, I've got to save up my energy for screaming at mama.

Nikki,

Looks like many prayers have been answered! you are finally a mommy. Isn't it wonderful and exhausting?! I am so happy for you to be experiencing this journey. Gavin is gorgeous!!!! No surprise though given his parents. I have been meaning to sign onto your blog for months now. But you know how many intentions fall to the wayside when you are focused on a little one. I know you are an amazing mom and would love to hear from you about the day to day.

He's growing so fast already.

Looks like you have to learn to sleep when they sleep.
